Delta Zeta welcomes UT Dallas and our local community to join in our Boot Scootin’ BBQ!

Student organizations and local businesses are invited to compete Saturday, April 2nd from 11AM-2PM in our Boot Scootin’ BBQ grill-off benefiting The Starkey Hearing Foundation! Bring your signature barbecue dish or favorite recipe and come compete for a chance to win our coveted People’s Choice or Judges Choice awards.

Don’t consider yourself a chef? No problem! Purchase tickets and sample 5 amazing dishes of your choice and help crown the People’s Choice winner! Continue to join in on the fun by competing in our Cornhole Tournament, Two Steppin’ Competition or enjoy live music from Curtis Grimes and Dillon Myers! Join us for an awesome afternoon of BBQ and supporting a great cause in Lot J!

Tickets:

Tickets are $10 and benefit our national partner The Starkey Hearing Foundation who support our philanthropy of speech and hearing. We will be selling tickets in the Student Union from March 28th-April 1st from 11am-1pm.  Tickets can also be purchased online or at the door. All ticket sales will be electronic.

Grill-off Competitors:

The registration period for competitors opens January 31st and ends March 5th. Competitors will need to fill out the Vendor Application and pay a $50 registration fee to secure their spot. Applications can be emailed to the VP of Philanthropy Brooke Lopez at vpphilanthropy@utdDeltaZeta.net. Student organizations will pay a reduced fee of $25 that can be refunded if they serve over 100 people at the event. Food must be pre-approved during the registration period or the registration is void.  Competitors are expected to prepare at least 100 sample sized portions of their dish. Each organization and business who register will receive one parking spot that they can set up their serving station in and are encouraged to bring tables, chairs, or tents as needed. Competitors can either prepare their dish on site or come pre-prepared. Set up begins at 9AM with all participants ready to go by 10:30AM. Location: Lot J

Competitors have the chance to win the People’s Choice or Judges Choice awards. The People’s Choice award focuses on the best sample dish voted on by the attendees of the event. The Judges Choice award will be decided by a panel of Delta Zeta sisters who will do blind taste tests of every sample and determine who had the best sample dish!

 

Cornhole Tournament & Two Steppin’ Competition

Event attendees can sign up in pairs of 2 to participate in the Cornhole Tournament at the check-in table when they pick up their sample tickets. The tournament will take place at 12PM and will be single elimination. Tournament winners will win their very own Cornhole set!

Pairs of 2 can also participate in the Two Steppin’ Competition. Judges will tap pairs on the shoulder for elimination and the last couple standing wins two awesome gift cards!
